Bringing Poplar Back!
Framehendge is open for 2017!
The beetles and worms came through and demolished all the ash trees in the area (probably why the tree I was climbing broke, but I digress) and now I'm creating art to house your art. One will be on display at Deer Creek.
The worms and insects had done quite a job on this ash tree, so we took it down and milled it into this very funky lumber pictured below.
Providing a service for the public in exchange for funds is commerce, an act as old as time itself, but somewhat new to me. Some have told me along the way that I've been making the right moves, taking the steps required for success in the small business realm, but still I am only learning. The curve has been gentle; I'm not new to the skill, but my approach is much different and at times treacherous than it was for me as an able bodied person. No, I can't do it all, but I have a way of making things come together pretty nicely. The frames that I provide are painstakingly produced with a passion that wasn't predicted. Why spend the rest of my life in bed (the way some would expect a man with similar injuries to live out his life) when I can take the risk of creating something beautiful and strong? Creating a frame for PhanArt (or any art created and inspired by/for music) using lumber harvested on my own land by Mother Nature (tornadoes, blight, south winds, etc), repurposed wood from old barns and restoration jobs, and other upcycled materials is my business. When I can invest another $3500, I'll have the ability to accurately, quickly and efficiently make custom frames with great safety and unlimited creative potential when it comes to what could be engraved in the wooden elements of the frame... Absolute sky's the limit, they say. I'll be making frames that are so amazing that I feel confident that I'll be virtually buried in orders. With my own photoshop skills and those of some of my friends and associates will render many spectacular designs for the 3D engraving. One of my future "framehendge2.0" blog posts will be advertising the various job openings germane to the world of successful business, because I'm bringing it to the next level.
The whole point to this is that there's definitely a learning curve, and I am without a doubt increasing my productivity with furthered experience.
if you're a customer, please reach out to me night or day with any questions, comments, design requests, or concerns of any kind. This is how you receive an even better frame.
In addition to making frames and music, I am also quite into filmmaking. Today, I saw the camera that I'm working towards having, using to make my very own motion pictures.
one of these days, I hope to have nice things
Admittedly, I've spent less time in the shop than I should have, but I'm on my way back up there now, but I've been watching speech after speech from Bernie Sanders all across California. This man has genuine hustle, and he should be the Democratic nominee in my opinion. Okay! Back to woodworking. I'm working with restoration hickory and tornado pine. 16 x 28.5" frames to house most any print with a fat mat taboot. Have a great day people, I feel the Bern, and feel the burn from the fire beneath my feet.
